Hello!
Hey I'm Dani, welcome to Wild Womb! I wanted to share a little about Wild Womb and how it came about. I've been a midwife for nearly 5 years now with a passion for natural birth / home birth. I've always been interested in women's health, particularly the uterus, I think she's fascinating. Our womb goes through so much in our lifetime and I believe we've lost touch with the natural ways to care for her.
Using my knowledge of herbalism and women's health, I've created lovely self-care boxes for women trying for a baby, women struggling with menstrual pain, women struggling with menopause symptoms, labouring women, women who have recently had babies and women who have recently lost babies. These boxes could be a gift for a friend, or a treat for yourself; because our womb deserves to be nurtured.
Herbalism and Folklore
Traditionally in Celtic lands, herbs were used for healing purposes by people referred to as 'cunning folk' or 'wise women'. Herbs cannot only heal physically (there is honey and lemon in most cough and cold remedies for example), but are known to heal emotionally and spiritually too.
For example, clary sage essential oil is known to increase contractions in labour, which is why I have included it in labour and birth items. Lavender and lemon balm is known to enhance relaxation and sleep, which is why I have included these herbs in the postnatal and sleepy items. Marjoram is known to reduce pain levels and inflammation, hence why it is in the menstrual cramp items.

Of course, some herbs aren't safe and are even toxic when used inappropriately, so as well as completing an online herbalism course, I have done extensive research into what is safe.
I hope you enjoy these gifts as much as I enjoyed making them for you. Stay wild!
