Roses have a long history in folklore and are well known as the love herb. Rose is strongly tied to healing, compassion and understanding. 

Motherwort:

Motherwort is a soothing herb for the first stage of grief, when your grief feels hot and deep. Motherwort can cool and calm this feeling, whilst also allowing you to acknowledge it. Burning motherwort and inhaling the scent may support a healthy expression of anger and calm the nervous system; helpful when dealing with grief.
