  • Anointed Candles:

Anointed with lavender essential oil, thyme and lavender flowers.

    Lavender:

This herb is commonly used and burned to cleanse negative energies from the home. It is a wonderfully calming herb associated with sleep, and many people drink lavender tea and place lavender springs under their pillow before bed. Lavender flowers were often worn by brides in medieval Europe, as the herb also symbolises purity, devotion and serenity.

    Thyme:

It is said that thyme can take away sorrow or worries of the past for people, and is good for confidence, healing, energy and sleep; hence why I have utilised thyme in the postpartum candle set. Thyme can also inspire bravery and courage. Dab a drop of oil in your face and body to face your fears and inspire bravery, or maybe take a sprig of thyme out with you and your baby the first time you leave the house together.

Bath Soak: If you have had a C-Section, please allow for 2 weeks after your dressing has been removed to have a bath.

Epsom salt, lavender essential oil, caldenula (marigold) and rose petals.

    Calendula:

The herb was mostly used for magickal purposes. The spiritual properties of calendula include love, happiness, healing and protection. It is also thought that sprinkling calendula petals under your bed will help with sleep. Calendula is known to be a healing antiseptic that can be used in baths. Some studies suggest that the use of calendula can significantly reduce pain after an episiotomy or perineal tear, can aid the healing of C-section wounds and reduce redness and swelling.

    Rose:

Roses have a long history in folklore and are well known as the love herb. Physically, rose helps to stimulate blood flow as the petals are an astringent, i.e helps skin cells to contract so can be used to staunch bleeding from cuts and wounds, and there is some evidence to suggest that this can help to reduce bleeding at birth. Rose can also be seen a protective herb due it’s thorny nature.

    Peppermint Tea:

When drank as tea, peppermint can alleviate wind and bowel pain, and is commonly used to help women pass wind and stools post birth. This can be particularly helpful if you’ve had a C-section or a perineal tear, as wind can sometimes become trapped and painful.

*Please note* Crystals work by transferring energy when meditating. Hold them in your hand and feel their soothing energy. Never insert crystals anywhere inside your body.

    Rose Quartz Crystal:

Rose quartz works well with calming emotions and overcoming unhelpful emotional patterns. Rose quartz promotes unconditional love and happiness and carries a soft feminine energy of compassion and peace.

    Lepidolite Crystal:

Lepidolite, often referred to as the "Peace Stone" or "Grandmother Stone," is known for its ability to bring tranquility and balance, especially during times of transition and change. Deflects negative energy and is traditionally known to aid sleep.

    Unakite Crystal:

Unakite is believed to help balance emotions postpartum, used for grounding, recovery and sleep.
